About Sherbert & Associates

Dr. Ed Sherbert is an accomplished HR practitioner with over 35 years of industry experience including numerous managerial and executive level positions, culminating in the development of his own HR consulting firm. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he possesses a deeply personal understanding and connection to other combat veterans. Moreover, he possesses extensive “hands on” HR experience in union and non-union environments, both domestically and internationally, as a practitioner and consultant. He is terminally degreed in HR Management, has published numerous professional articles, and serves as a subject matter expert for the SHRM organization. Finally, he served as a past SHRM certification examination question writer, and has most recently been recognized officially as a SHRM ambassador.

Candy Gibbons has served as Sherbert & Associates’ Director of HR since 2005 and is an active member of SHRM. Prior to joining S&A, she worked in the hospitality industry, where she gained insights through observing employee behaviors and team management. As the Director of HR, she possesses experience in for-profit and non-profit sectors, including organizations in the manufacturing and banking industries. Candy’s specialties include compliance, policy development and implementation, onboarding, benefit plans, and Affirmative Action plans.

Windy Hammond has served as Sherbert & Associates’ Director of Training since the firm’s inception. Her areas of expertise include designing and overseeing training programs as well as on-going skill updates that are specific to each company’s needs. A career educator, she completed doctoral degree work in curriculum and instruction. Windy works closely with S&A’s clients in developing tailor-fitted educational seminars and workshops focused on various topics, including leadership, time management, customer service, conflict resolution, cultural sensitivity, and diversity.

Maria A. Kithcart serves as the Director of Marketing and Manager for Training and Recruitment for Sherbert & Associates, and holds graduate degree work in business, marketing, human resources, management, and leadership. Her specialties are creating community through the social media platforms of Facebook and LinkedIn, writing curriculum and developing training programs, and recruiting candidates for organizations. She possesses work experience in non-profit, for-profit, and government firms, and has worked with Sherbert & Associates since 2003. Maria is an active member of both SHRM and the local SHRM chapter in Greenville, SC.
